Re: About to buy a ID4
As DeltaDave said, definitely check the tyres, you might have only a few K left and they are expensive to replace, roughly £250 per tyre. The wear can be on one side (inner) of the tyre and not easily visible. We find heated seats a must as you can avoid using cabin heating which saves at least 40 m...

Is it possible to remove the rear seat?
Why you ask? Well a small stone or something seems to be rolling around on bare metal underneath the rear seats and it is driving me bonkers. It happens going round corners etc and is very irritating. The stone may have got there via the seat belt clip hole as there is a bit of gap in this area. The...

Re: Software issues
I had the same alarm issue after a service & software update at the dealers. It kept going off randomly. I called VW - AA assist , the technician who attended diagnosed a faulty Body Control Unit. He disabled the alarm. The dealer had given me an appointment for a couple of weeks. Hope your prob...

Re: App
Yes I have seen this. On opening the App it can show one mileage, perhaps the mileage after last charge, then show a value much lower and after sometime shows the same mileage as in the car. I wonder if it is linked to the App and the car synchronisation process. Likely to be a bug in initialising s...

Update
As my local dealer cannot look at the car for a couple of weeks, I phone VW Assistance. The technician diagnosed a faulty Body Control Unit. I am suspicious that it became faulty during the service and battery replacement but will never know.

Alarm keeps going off
I had my 2 year service and 3.2 update - car retuned 3 days ago. Since then the alarm has gone off 4 times for no apparent reason. I have reset the Infotainment system a couple of times as I navigate my way through the new features, but this has not stopped it happening. Anyone got any experience of...

Re: Self seal puncture.
Yes, I had one earlier this year. I got a warning about tyre pressure on the back nearside wheel being low. Crept home and found a screw in the tyre the next day. Removed it, hiss, self sealed, pumped it back to the required pressure. Nervous for the first few journeys but have forgotten about it si...

Re: Heated Seat question
Thanks.
Just to say that our heated seats don;t use much power at all, especially compared to Air Con. We loose 40 miles of the range if we switch this on.

Heated Seat question
We have noticed that 10-15 minutes after putting heated seats on with three red dots, the red dots drop down to two. This happens without any human interaction. Wondered if this is an automatic threshold issue, but can't find anything in the manual. We do not use air con on but have the temperature ...
