Got an email from VW... no update yet, still showing 3.2
"Thank you for choosing sustainable mobility as part of our ID. family. We are delighted to be able to offer you additional functions and optimisations for your ID. with our ID. software 3.7."
With the ID. software 3.7, "bidirectional charging" will be enabled for all ID. vehicles (with a 77 kWh battery or more) that did not have the ID. software 3.5 previously. You can obtain more information on the Smart Charging page.
Furthermore, you benefit from the following optimisations for your ID. with this update:
Minimisation of noise during charging caused by interference with some mains connections
Drive behaviour improvements
Infotainment system stabilisation
Additional optimisations and bug fixes
Had a notification yesterday morning for 3.7. Once I’d stopped using the car for the day and having read the related info ( available via QR code on the infotainment screen when you click further information) I sat in the car and the notification disappeared. Knowing it comes on after a journey I did a lap of our road and still nothing. Long story short I left it and went out ten minutes later and it reappeared. I held my breath and touched update once I’d turned the lights off (it won’t let you update if they’re on).
It then says leave and lock the car which I did. DON’T BE TEMPTED TO GO BACK AND UNLOCK IT! INSIDE TWO MINUTES IT WILL CANCEL THE UPDATE.
I left it and haven’t been near it since.
The app appears to be as before and syncs with the car this morning, once I’ve got myself sorted I’ll check the car and report back (in about an hour)

Just got in the car and an array of error lights showed then cleared and message, “Software Update Failed” No explanation was given.
Will try again later.
Here's my recent experience: (ID.4 1st on 3.2 (installed via garage))
Received the email saying that I would be getting the v3.7 OTA update on 17 Oct
Received the notification in the car (when leaving the car) during the day on 2 Nov, but couldn't go ahead with the update as I needed the car right until late that evening
Decided to poke around Settings > System Information to see if there was more information, but there wasn't much but a small message stating that an update would start when the car was switched off
When leaving the car for the last time that day, notification stating update was available was no longer there(!)
Used the car next morning, still no notification
Finally when leaving the car for the last time that day, notification came back, so finally agreed to start it (had to turn off lights before I could proceed)
Left the car overnight, turned it on this morning - received a popup saying that another update was needed to complete the OTA update. Instead of clicking OK, I clicked on 'More Information' (because why not), but then nothing was displayed and car continued to boot up (and then I received a message about having too many phones connected to the car so had to remove one... )
Car looked to have finished booting up, no error messages, but poking around I could see in Settings > System Information that the number was different (1017? Can't remember exactly), but when I go to see the ID Software Version app, the icon itself was a frozen spinning circle and going into it, I was treated to a please wait spinning circle. I gave up then and left the car.
I'll check again later today to see if things are any different.

Just tried again and after around an hour it’s updating and around a fifth of the way, that’s not to say it won’t fail again.
