Welcome from West Yorkshire!

Hi,

And the long wait is over, ordered early May and today my ID4 Max rolled onto the drive. First impressions are great and now need to digest the chunky instruction manual which, like most of you out there I expect, will be skip read until I can't guess as to how something works. Having switched from an Arteon I expect that most of the driving aids are the same so just the charging and range element to fathom out …. straight in the deep end with that as I have a 425 mile round journey to do on Wednesday and a further 375 over the weekend! What could possibly go wrong.

Well that went better than expected. A confident and comfortable first outing and returned 3.9 miles/kWh …. thats good enough to park the range anxiety.

Glad to hear it went well and i must say, it looks damn fine in that colour. Thats for the pics.

Thats a good range, i would certainly be happy to get near that figure in mine (When it arrives).

Anything caught you by surprise on your trip? positive or negative?

Initial thoughts:
Caught me by surprise
- when you are coasting in a speed limit (say 50) and it knows that there is a lower speed limit ahead (30) it starts to slow down to regen
- braking severity changes depending on the speed that you are braking from
Positive
- wireless phone charging and appleplay
- build quality
- generally everything else I suppose
Negative
- the HUD is like something from the Minority Report it would be nice if you could disable some of the information being displayed
- heater control sliders beneath the central display a bit of a faff

A lot more good than anything seriously wrong for sure

Wow! It looks awesome in that colour!

Regarding the instruction manual, did you get an actual paper manual? I'm really struggling with the electronic version in the infotainment system as you can't 'play' with the settings whilst reading the manual. Very frustrating.
