Volkswagen ID4 Forum

Does anyone else find the forward and reverse selector counterintuitive? The BMW i3 is much the same, but Audi EV's and PHEV's have the gear shift where you'd expect it to be in the centre console. I'm about to change my job and my new car is a Hyundai Kona Electric which I think the transmission selector is where it should be. My ID4 is brilliant and I've loved driving it and will be sorry to see it go. The only other negative I have about the ID4 is you can't locate where you have parked it in the app and both Android Auto and Apple Carplay are both flaky. Do any of you have the issues I've had?

I've had my ID4 for a week now and am just beginning to not reach down for a gear stick! The whole driving experience is so alien it's going to take me some time to get used to. Not sure why you can't 'find your car' in the app as I have found the facility very accurate indeed. I'd agree with CarPlay being flaky but not sure if that's down to VW interface or indeed CarPlay.
