Hi everyone,

New to the forum, new to the ID family as I currently have a reserve on a 21 ID.4 Family Pro Performance hoping to be collected next week.

The dealer has provided this quicktest of the HV battery,

and from a basic calculation of MILEAGE/TOTAL ENERGY CHARGED it would seem this car has only averaged 2.1 miles/kWh over its 3 year lifetime. This surely doesn’t seem right, am I missing something?

More annoyingly the dealer has no idea why, and says it’s just not possible for it to be that low.

From what others have shared I would have expected at least 3 miles/kWh as an average?

Welcome! Personally I wouldn't pay much attention to that as an estimate of overall efficiency- and in any case that's not the purpose of this document. In terms of efficiency so much will depend on what the vehicle was used for (motorway vs urban) and also the driving style, both of which have a huge impact. But I agree than in real life the efficiency should be much better for most people. Our twelve month average is just over 4, but we don't generally spend much time aggressively hammering up and down motorways in the winter at 75mph which sounds like it might have been what this car has been doing.

The key figures from an overall battery "health" perspective are the proportion of DC charging (3.49% looks low to me, which is good in terms of battery health), and the amount of time parked up at 100% charged (too much is bad). The overall figure of 93% residual energy content means that there is plenty of life left in the battery, even after quite high mileage in the first three years.

BTW is this a VW report by the way? Looks like it, not least from the spelling. Good that this sort of info is being provided with used EVs.

Just of curiosity - what do the star markings refer to? The "*" is explained, but "**" and "***" are not - I suppose they are on p. 2
