Sorry to ask this but I'm a bit puzzled why you are all waiting so long to get an id4 when there are low mileage second hand ones available now - are you tied into earlier orders despite failure to provide or is there another reason - just curious.

My ID4 is finally out of the hands of the German customs and on the Neckar Highway! I think another couple of weeks… 7 month wait.

What spec did you order, out of interest?

Went for the Life Pure 52kWh. Standard spec, made sure I got the Gov grant. Regret a little not going for the higher range and maybe an extra on it too but seems like the more you add the longer you wait so no regrets.

I went for basic spec only upgrade was alloys and the silver pack. I was extremely lucky I ordered 6th march and received 2 weeks later.

Not sure if it was a cancelled order, I was looking on Autotrader and found it from Jct600 VW. I Was give a choice of 2 within my budget One in silver & one in moonstone grey. They had others available but higher end models out of my budget.

I must admit something doesn’t seem to be quite right with the ordering system.
I first went to my local Volkswagen dealership who I previously traded with (Vertu VW) I would’ve like to have done business with the same guy I’ve always dealt with he’s always looked after me in the past.
Other than an overpriced used ID4 they had in stock he advised me I would have to wait 9 to 12 months.
I accepted that I probably wasn’t going to find anything any time soon. That same day I was browsing the auto Trader website and found a garage 1 hour away advertising new 1d4’s
I requested a call back, which I received within 30 minutes. I drove straight to the dealership took out the demo. I was ready to do the deal there and then. I asked the sale assistant if I could call her back within 30 minutes.
I then called back my local dealership to advise a car was available. And asked if he could obtain the car so I could deal through him.
He found the car on the system but Unfortunately he couldn’t get hold of it. Despite losing my custom he advice for me to go ahead with the deal quickly.
I was slightly suspicious of cars being advertised that maybe weren’t available but he confirmed it was.
I then called the dealership and arranged a deal I was very happy with! they included in a 3 pin charger and gave me a very good part exchange on my 1yr old Tiguan.
I have received the car two weeks later as promised.
I’m very happy with the car! Only slight regret is I just wish I would’ve got a larger battery. But at least I’ve got the vehicle and I’m making massive savings running costs.

Anyone had any updates recently? I’m trying to remain hopeful I might see our iD4 at some point this year. We ordered the life model with no extras from parkway Volkswagen in derby through the motability scheme on 21/11/21 and was told May delivery but i very much doubt that. Our motability lease has been extended as our current 5008 was due to go back on 22/2/22.
